Author of Language, Race, and Negotiation of Identity: A Study of Dominican Americans (2002, NY: LFB Scholarly Publishing) and various articles and chapters on intercultural communication, code switching, Dominican immigrant identities, and negotiation of ethic and racial identities in face-to-face interaction (see CV). Current research focuses on capturing and representing pragmatic meanings in practically-oriented translation.
